How To Become A Super Agent

You’ve studied, and you know enough about the automotive industry to be an agent. But why be an “Agent” when you could be a “Super Agent”? It’s not impossible. The first thing you’ll need to ask yourself is, “Am I prepared?”

There have been many transformations happening within the car industry; Some good, some bad. With that being said, it’s a good idea to review some of the current shifts to ensure your state of readiness.

  • With online car retailers trending, how do you harmonize the process from digital to brick-and-mortar dealerships?

If you’re having a hard time coming up with the answers, that’s okay. We came up with the following guidelines to increase your automotive awareness and knowledge to better aid you to be the best agent you can be.

  1. Score a goal! Make a checklist of goals you’d like to accomplish and see if it’s possible to achieve at least one goal a day. For example, pick one of the questions above and come up with some answers. In general, lists are a great way to stay on top of tasks and achieving one goal a day will help build your confidence.
  2. Stay educated. Keeping tabs on auto industry news and trends is a great way to become a Super Agent and to also answer the relevant questions above. Perhaps one of your goals could be to read at least one car industry article a day. Also, general news happenings can lead to transformations within the auto industry; So, it’s important to be informed. The more you know, the more you’ll grow as an agent.
  3. Don’t stay a rookie. Becoming an expert past the agent side will segway you to becoming a Super Agent in no time! Having a solid understanding of how dealership practices work; including, but not limited to tax compliance issues, trade shows and networking events, and participating in online classes will make you go pro immediately.
  4. Be an agent scientist. By nature, scientists are inquisitive. Asking questions and proposing solutions is a great way to propel yourself forward in any industry and the auto industry is no exception. Be the change the industry needs.
  5. Build thick skin. Remaining resilient through dramatic changes, and learning from history, are imperative to becoming a Super Agent. You can’t be afraid of failure – any superhero knows that. As Alfred tells Bruce Wayne, “Why do we fall? So, we can learn to pick ourselves back up again.”
  6. Social stardom. Increasing your social media presence can help you to increase business and to build your personal and professional brand. Use this to leverage and be more inclusive of the name “Super Agent.”
  7. Get inspired. Learn from the best! Pick people that you admire and don’t be afraid to take some guidance from them. Advice from others can be incredibly valuable.

What’s the takeaway? Educating yourself, becoming a problem-solver, and trying your best to complete tasks in a timely manner will help secure your title as a “Super Agent”.
